You need to account for the convenience of how to get to and from work. First and foremost, do you have a car? If yes, how long is the drive both ways? How is the traffic. The cost of commuting is also something you need to keep in mind when deciding on an apartment.

4. Am I looking for entertainment nearby?
Some people get bored easily. If you like to have some nice, clean entertainment once in a while, then you should be looking for an apartment that is in close proximity to malls and shopping centers, movie theaters, etc. If you're a home person who enjoys watching movies on his entertainment system, make sure to pick an apartment with thick walls so you don't disturb any of the other tenants.

5. Do I need a furnished apartment?
You may want to rent a fully furnished apartment depending on your budget. An apartment fully furnished saves you the time and money to go out and buy a lot of new stuff, things you might not need later on. On the other hand if you aren't comfortable using things not your own, you're better off renting a non-furnished apartment.
