This articles site was implemented on a Subrion.com or Subrion CMS "Premium" PHP articles script. I paid for 5 "licenses" because it was represented to me that I could put up additional templates at a later date. Of course when I asked to put up another template I was told that my license only allowed additional article templates.
This is not the first time that I have gone down this road. Interspire.com sold me multiple software packages for significant money and then decided that they were no longer going to support them. Yes its their business choice, its just my business that is affected. I'm sure that they have no regard to their customers, welcome to the real world, customer service is a thing of the past.
Before I bought into the www.interspire.com fiasco I had another or third software company, yes I guess it is partly my fault, that took my money and then told me that they couldn't install the site that I wanted and that they wouldn't refund my money because they had "invested too much time" into trying to make the site work. If I thought that was a possibility I wouldn't have invested the money in the first place. It's amazing what some software companies will do to rip-off their customers.
I am primarily a commercial real estate appraiser, although I do have a degree in computer systems, but I don't usually have a great deal of time at my disposal to work on website development. The only sites however that I have had little or no problems with are those that I developed myself, like http://www.horizonvillageappraisal.com or http://www.appraisenevada.com, no third-party provider messing with those.
As a warning to others who want to lean on third-party software providers / scripts / templates like those provided by Subrion.com, my opinion is DON'T DO IT! Don't buy the template or the script and then have someone telling you that you are basically a tenant on their software, and if they don't stay in business you will just have to port everything to another template package. You are better off developing your own software using WordPress or just laying it out yourself. If you can't get it done pay someone to set it up and be done with it, its better than having a permanent "partner."
